5 DAY PAINTING BOOTCAMP 2012

Both experienced and beginning painters are welcome, and will benefit from any of these workshops. All classes will take place at Leigh's beautiful home and studio up in the inspiring mountains of Llano San Juan, just 25 miles southwest of Taos proper.

We will have 8 outdoor painting sessions, early morning and late afternoon, in 8 different locations. There will be 2 afternoons of gentle critique, and some work on finish, in the studio. The midday hours are for lunch and rest. Throughout the day, simple breathing and movement practices will be incorporated to center and ground our energies. Leigh will conduct a painting demonstration at each painting session, then be on hand to coach each student with composition, use of color, medium, technique, and personal perception.

Food and Lodging will be provided by Leigh on site, either in her home or at a historic adobe home down the road. 3 healthy homecooked meals are served each day, in between snacks available. Accomodations are private or shared bedrooms, with shared bath. Workshop tuition is $550, and with meals and lodging included $975. For the best experience, it is recommended that you stay in Llano, rather than commuting 40 minutes from and to Taos every day.

On-line ordering of supplies is recommended since the Artisan store in Taos closed the end of June 2011. If you are not able to purchase all the supplies or are unable to bring them to your workshop, an easel complete with paints, brushes and painting board can be rented for $25 a day.

WEEKEND PAINTING RETREAT

This year, Leigh will be offering 3 weekend art retreats, that include painting, meditation, moving and breathing practices. Quiet your mind in order to be able to see clearly and listen to your intuition from within. Held at Leigh's beautiful mountain home, with group sessions in the 30' yurt studio. Lodging and healthy meals from the garden included in the $385 tuition fee. We'll meet on Friday evening at 6pm for dinner, and play all weekend til Sunday 4pm.
