| Ok, since it seems I'm still not computer savvy enough to be able to send out a monthly newsletter by myself yet, here's a web-letter: Thanks! To all the artists, from the beginners to the well-seasoned, who participated in the 5 painting workshops I conducted in 2006! Great job! Each person brought their own enthusiasm and energy, and created fabulous work despite various weather conditions and unreasonable demands from the teacher! We all worked hard and had great fun, and new friends were made by all. |
![]() | My family of Chris, me, Joelle and Azalea traveled back east this summer for a family reunion to visit with my parents, my brother and his family. We all stayed in 2 rental houses right on Lake Winnepesaukee in New Hampshire, and had a relaxing time swimming, Boating, tubing, fishing, eating, and vegetating. A lovely visit. On the home-front, Joelle is conducting her 8th grade studies at home this year. We found a curriculum that is pretty much self-teaching, and she is enjoying getting up and doing her math in her pajamas every morning. Joelle is an imaginative writer, reads a lot, and is taking drum lessons on a trap set she has in our house. Azalea, 18, worked several jobs on and off throughout the year, hung out on Taos Plaza all summer looking fabulous, and couch surfed at friends’ houses. In November, she left Taos in search of adventure and God knows what else, and was last heard to be in Laguna Beach, CA. Chris is playing his flute every week with the Wednesday night Irish session, and also with out local contra dance band. He is the love, sunshine, and anchor in my life. Between him, my yoga and my meditation practice, I can almost keep my act together. Fun for me has been hiking with my dogs, singing with my women’s singing group, playing my fiddle (though still a closet fiddler) and I’ve taken up horseback riding this summer! For 2007, my big goal is to begin construction of my painting and yoga studio up on the land I have in Llano San Juan. I plan to include some dorms, so students can come and stay, paint, and do yoga with me up in the beautiful, quiet rural fields of the Llano. (pronounced “Yano”) I’m also looking forward to painting in new places, and will be visiting and painting with a friend in the Florida Keys this spring! Blessings to all………Leigh |
